BIM, as a construction process, revolves around changing and adapting the majority of existing processes to accommodate for the innovative way that BIM implements information and collaboration into every aspect of the process.

Architectural  BIM

 BIM has different levels starting at 0 to familiar 3D wherein dimensions like height, width, and depth are shown. The higher levels of  BIM also enables us to view a building based on how long it will take to complete each element (4D) , cost at every stage  (5D)and which is an analysis of the building’s environmental impact over time using 6D.


CAD to BIM

The capacity of the CAD system to hold comprehensive information about the structure, material conflicts and details necessary for automating construction scheduling and costing is limited. Modelling the existing CAD drawing in BIM software makes it data rich and easy for collaboration.

4D and 5D

By integrating information rich 3D BIM models with additional dimensions of scheduling and cost and material estimations, 4D and 5D BIM modules manage better the effect of change in orders on project costs and scheduling.

Scan to 3D

Using highly accurate 3D scan data generated with 3D scanning we are able to view as-built documentation in a virtual world. At Black rook we convert  point cloud data into accurate 3D  model which can be used for comparison or reconstruction.

Canopies at Platform

The platform canopies are complex structures  due the shape and it engineering consideration that went into it due to the geographical location . The canopies were made using tensile fabrics and supplied by another vendor.

The tensile fabric vendor could not proceed with fabrication without the accurate model of the canopy columns . 
Black Rook has created the BIM for canopy structure after discussing with details with design engineers . The model was shared with canopy fabric supplier and other trades to ensure there is no conflict during process.  Having accurate BIM model helped the fabrication of canopy cover without the need for site adjustment.
